Ethnographic Forum Theatre as Staging Space between Powers, Knowledge, and Commitments

This article explores the use of forum theatre as a method of ethnography of performance within the framework of participatory action-research on drought and the uses of water. The research was carried out in 2022 in Morocco and Luberon (Southern France), with the aim of questioning epistemic injustices. The stakes revolved around developing a living, embodied and situated relationship with knowledge. Drama has allowed the creation of a shared space of expression, the experience in the performers’ bodies of the complexity of relationships with knowledge, and to include them in action.
