Of the Face. Investigating with the Arts: Anthropology and the “Théâtre de la Personne”

During the research conducted by the GdRA, a collective of artists who practise anthropology to write up plays, the arts and multidisciplinarity offer an escape route to the investigation, bereft of realism. How, for example in Lozère, through the case of the play La Cham, the promise of collaborative work mobilizing the arts of making for a show to be staged for a public bolsters the investigation and leads to alliances for a science that fully accepts its rigorous, realistic and ethical vocation.
